Pete's 2006 Big South Pre-Season Schedule Previews
  1. VMI: They are putting the finishing touches on Foster stadium's face-lift in time for the 2006 season; unfortunately, it will not see much use as the Keydets have 7 away games on this years schedule. Some of these games include Richmond, William & Mary, Army, and The Citadel. Let's not forget JMU at home. The Military Classic is always one of my favorite games at any level.

  2. Coastal Carolina: Coastal will not be a surprise to anyone his year, and playing as many SoCon teams as Big South clubs will be a challenge. They play Furman, GSU, Wofford and Elon. In addition, they have a very tough contest with MEAC power S. Carolina State.

  3. Liberty: The Flames will face Wake Forest, William & Mary, Towson, Western Carolina ... in addition to the full compliment of Big South teams, and a couple of sub-IAA teams.

  4. Gardner-Webb: Gardner-Webb looks to regain control of the Big South, and has a fairly good schedule to make it happen. Games include national champs ASU, Tenn-tech, Tenn.-Martin, an interesting game with Southeastern La., and Wofford.

  5. Charleston Southern: The Bucs schedule is again very "watered down" with sub-IAA games. However, there are the academies and Georgetown on the 2006 slate.
